ok...i'm back! (excuse to myself: waiting for hair to dry..*glances guiltily at the hairdryer*)
it's so rare that i have the mood to blog that i felt the short post earlier could not curb the sudden urge to share my life with my blog (and my friends if they are still following this blog ..my blog died sometime after last year's presidential elections i believe)
ok, it's late and tomorrow is a work day...
nevertheless, maybe another short post will satiate the need to write?
my life as it is has fallen into a routine (read: monotonous) cycle
revolving around work, family, friends, foodies (not very much), tv dramas and some real life drama (not involving myself of course) (not in any order of priority)
i can't say i love it or hate it...
after years of drama in the family (not that it was intentional), this peaceful existence is godsent.
B****ing about work, emotional colleagues, boss, etc is definitely infinitely more preferable than family drama.
last year was a really difficult year at work.
adapting to new (and added) responsibilities, learning new skills and acquiring new knowledge...
many a times, i wanted to throw in the towel and quit.
but efforts at finding a new job were at best half hearted.
A position that i was quite sure that i could get did not materialise..(i think i missed their call, not on purpose of course)
basically, my life last year had no directions...
3rd year on the job, itching to see how the outside world looked like, but knew nuts about what i wanted to do, combined with the fear that 1) any new job would not offer the breadth and depth and challenges of the current job or 2) the new job would be totally outside of ability.
yes, there's an insecure little girl deep in my heart.
looking back now, i do feel a sense of achievement in overcoming all the difficulties last year...
this has given me the confidence that i am capable of achieving and overcoming much more daunting tasks if i set my mind to it.
this year, i still do not have a clue of where i want to be in 10years..
but, i've set short term goals for myself...
maybe step by step these short term goals will bring me to somewhere favourable.
i can't get over how i can be pretty decisive in my public persona, but be so indecisive about my own personal goals in life.
ohwells, there are some minor delays in the timeframe that i've pictured for myself to obtain those short term goals, but it's ok, i guess things will work out in the end...
ohmy! it is really late!
time to sleep!!
gosh! my blog has totally died-ed!
the pitfalls of the onset of mobile technology and social media is that people tend to express themselves in shorter sentences with fewer words (i.e. 140 characters).
The onslaught of internet lingo is like a summary of expressions.
anyway, i'm not here to discuss the above.
I'm just waiting for my turn in the shower...
so instead of watching catchup tv (which may well cause me to lose sleep tonight), I'm blogging.
Yups, just booked the air tickets to yogyarta with zhen in June!
yogyarta - mount bromo - bali
whoots!
indonesia seems to be a less travelled country as compared to other SEAsian countries?
excited!
at the same time i do feel bad that we did not ask the other vases along...
just that..it's so much easier and fuss free to plan for 2...
and well..both of us being the chop chop curry pok type who like minimal planning (?), fuss free (perhaps it appears so coz zhen always does the planning? hehe)
the nicer way to call us would be "spontaneous"
you have no idea the logistics involved in planning a trip for many...
wells, i suppose us vases can have other trips~ (if someone else takes on the behemoth task of coordination and planning)
okays..my turn to bathe!
i guess my next post will be when i have the mood to write again...
maybe the next time i wait for my turn in the shower??
nights!
