i realised sth
i dunno if it's juz a generalisation
i feel that sometime economists really live in their own world..
they come up with all the fanciful theories
but do not really strike a chord with the average person like us
like how some can talk about helping the lowest 20% income
but know nothing abt how the pple in this category live
they talk about globalisation
how it'll be good for the economy if we r an open economy
but to benefit from globalisation
pple will have to have mobiltiy
geographical as well as occupational
i think this mobility comes with education
but the lowest 20% bracket are prob the ones w/o the mobility
so they may not be very concerned abt how globalisation benefits the economy
they only know that it affects their job stability
their financial security
they are not bothered with all the theories like how a fiscal policy can benefit the economy
they only see their expenses rising over time n yet their pay remains the same
yes tt's the reality
bread on the table, roofs over their head, money in their savings account...
these are the more realsitic things closer to their rather than some abstract n chim sounding theory
lowest 20% may seem like very little
but if you are in this situation
you will always find ways to do more with your limited amt of money
doesn't mean tt lowest 20% can't have leisure activities
average singaporean must buy 4D meh?
muz spend $10 $20 $30 on 4D meh?
maybe so..
but average person living in the lowest 20% bracket may not spend this much on 4D..
perhaps they can actually do more rather than juz quoting statistics...
