this is the home music video for total defence day..

Chinese New year is usually associated with feasting, gatherings, catching up and traditions...
And now the 15 days of CNY is officially over...
time to shake off the festive mood that the whole town was shrouded in for the past 3 months...
time to work hard on that new year resolution of yours!
the good thing about being chinese?
u get to celebrate TWO new years...
so even if u did not get started on your CNY resolution on 1 jan 2011, there's always the 1st day of the 1st lunar month of the year!

This year actually i wasn't very keen on making pineapple tarts after last year's miserable failure...
but..they were simply too EXPENSIVE!
what! $20+ for pineapple tarts! i can make a tub of pineapple tarts with that!
so here's how they look like..




some like their pineapple tarts to be all wrapped up
others like it to be opened like mine!
some like the pineapple paste more than the pastry
others prefer the pastry to the pineapple paste (ME!)
some like the pastry to be soft and buttery (ME again!)
Others like it to be thin and crispy
some like it to be a bit more eggy, or milky, etc

So much knowledge in one small little pineapple tart which also happens to be a calorie bomb...

incidentally, i ate a lot of pineapple tarts this CNY..
had 1 from yan's cookies, 1 from le cafe and cheese pineapple tarts..
the cheese pineapple tarts that my auntie bought at kovan were delicious!

so, how do u like yours?

not too sure if all families do this..
last time my mum would make tang yuan during the winter solistice and on the 15th day of CNY...
haven't eaten it in quite a while and had the craving for this tang yuan for the longest time...
finally decided to pull myself away from work on time and went home to make this!
hmm the riceballs were a tad too chewy i feel..but still nice k!
it was my first time making leh!
