early celebration of Maureen's bdae...went to this restaurant called 7atenine at the esplanade mall..the food was good!! but..the portion was small..maureen u noe wad! i dun mind trying the lunch unlimited thingy also..but weekends haf or nt ar?

den after tt we went to the tea museum to have tea..like tai tais like tt..haha..the cookies at the tea museum are so nice!! but oh so expensive!

the birthday cake i bought at swiss bake was a disaster..i dunno if it's coz we dunno how to appreciate it or wad..i went into the shop look at all the cakes den ask the sales assistant..which cake doesn't have chocolate and doesn't have cheese..instantly the lady said champagne cake..so i was like ok!i'll take tt... purchase made in 5 mins..haha sekali turn out there was chocolate cream between the layers of cake...n well the cake itself tasted interesting..to be blunt not v nice..haha is champagne cake meant to be like tt? so sorry maureen..next time i wont be so adventurous liao..even if i'm desperate i'll juz buy the obiang but normal cakes frm bangawan solo..hahaha

Tuesday

Li Shan the trolley girl..took the trolley in and out of its resting place 3 times in a day..morning trolleyed 2 sets of computers downstairs..after lunch..trolleyed downstairs to pick up documents for an audit co..then late afternoon trolleyed to suntec to clear the stuff for a co in liq..

i knew that wif a trolley i would haf to go by the cargo lift..but i dun care i went by the passenger lift..1st time i din get caught..so happy! so 2nd time i went by the passenger lift again..while in the lift..(there was some other stranger in the lift also)..the intercom in the lift cackled to life..

guard: "miss miss! u cannot bring ur trolley into the passenger lift!" me:*pretends not to hear anything...* the guard: "miss miss! u cannot bring ur trolley into the passenger lift!" (the stranger in the lift looked amused) me:*looks around* guard: yes! you..miss..the lift tt u r taking... me: me?? guard: yes... me:den u wan me to go out and take the cargo lift now? by the time the convo ding dong back n forth, i reached my floor le..so i got out wif my trolley..baskett! so malu!!! haha

den later on in the day at suntec, was carrying all the junk frm the office..the office is ultra nice can! n ultra new..so new that the plastic covering on the handles of the drawers in the office is still there..anw to transport all those junk back to our office, the boss came to pick us up..den he was commenting that he was using his mercedez s class to do delivery..n pple were actually looking on weirdly..coz where gt pple use mercz to pick up a trolley full of stuff de..haha so he was telling us abt this convo he had..guard: *saw him picking up the trolley full of stuff* u working for them? (them meaning me my boss wife n another colleague) boss: ya!i'm their driver...hilarious!

wednesday

first case of H1N1 in sg..student frm smu..heard tt alot of pple r like scolding the poor ger who brought the virus into sg..my boss wife included..like hello! she go study mission come back kena the virus alr v poor thing alr leh..u think she ask for it meh..as tho she purposely want to get the virus like tt...n she was pretty responsible wehn she fell sick wad..she was monitoring her temperature and when she was unwell she went to see doc..at least she nv run ard everywhere...but..i got a qn...her parents act allowed her to go to the states even tho there were reported cases?

anw when news broke, my boss immediately called office and told everyone to be careful..den the wife added that if we fall sick we shouldn't go to work..i was like so hoping that i will kena my usual runny nose..so tt i got excuse not to go to work..but pian pian..nth happened..haha..ok la choy choy i also dun wan to fall sick..haha

hmm..how has H1N1 affected the lives of pple ard me? not much i supposed..juz that some travel plans have been changed..

maureen had to cancel her trip to NZ, bernice cancelled her trip to australia but in the end she went somewhere else..but she nv tell me where..randy had to cancel his first overseas trip to japan with his gf of 8 yrs..poor boy..haha

well..some other pple's plans were unchanged...esp those who went to tw..yu ling, michelle, jie ying..i also wanna go!!!! haha

wednesday also met up wif the girls..nan de all of us can make it..hehe hz got enuff face..good good..haha hz juz came back frm korea..so good!! i also wanna go!! haha thx for all ur souvenirs!! =D hz the thing tt u say taste like coco cruch? the one wif the red wrapper is super nice neh!! altho the inital taste is a bit weird...

thursday

asked bern to help me the hp lappie tt was on promo..ya la if i tell those pple who r really savvy abt buying these kind of stuff..they may say i can get a better deal elsewhere..but if u noe my buying habits, i dun really go do a market research to find the lowest price de..i juz see if the price is reasonable to me for tt kind of spec..n its convenient...den ok lor..anw tech pdts the prices keep falling by the day..u wan to wait for a best price wait until when..haha it's juz a v basic lappie coz i dun need all those fanciful functions...n they deliver!! cool!!haha thanx thanx ger!!

PAYDAY!!haix the cheque was only given after lunch..sad..means i'll only get my pay on tues instead of monday..broke! ok la..i could have gone to draw cash instead of crossing the cheque..but as u all noe my middle name is lazy..so i will juz drop the cheque into dbs which is on the way to the mrt..hsbc was closed by the time i gt off work anyway..n there's no hsbc in woodlands..haha

my cousin's graduation show...

tt summarises my week! =D long time nv write such a long post...原来do blog post need to have mood de..haha

very full...

today went to the farms with my aunties today...

woke up early...went to the goat farm

could only see the milking session

coz of the H1N1 virus visitors are not allowed to touch the animals or to feed the animals

hmm i wonder if it's to protect the visitors or to protect the goats..

haha

then after that went to the dragon fruit farm only to find that the dragon fruits were sold out at 10am in the morning...

after which for lack of anywhere else to go before lunch,the aunties took my recommendation to go to kin yan agrotech where they sell aloe vera, fresh mushrooms and rosella fruit...

it's like the trip that i made there with lamu last year..

while everyone was on their grad trip to various parts of the world...we travelled around singapore

hence this time round couldn't be bothered to take pictures..

haha

den we had lunch at bollywood veggies at 11am...

den we went to another veggie farm

after that we made our way home...

at least we were supposed to...

that was at 1pm

so on the way home

my auntie asked if we wanted to visit the food factories at woodlands link..

so we went...

den when we left the industrial area at 2pm, my ah gong suddenly asked

"want to go grab a bite?"

we all looked at each other thinking didn;t we just have lunch??"

so apparently my ah gong either forgot or was hungry again..

so we had another lunch

at 2+pm

we ate till abt 3pm

the best part was i was going for a food tasting session with maureen at 4pm

so even before my 2nd lunch was digested..i doubt my first lunch was even digested..

i had my early dinner

*burps*

so right now, my late lunch and early dinner has not been digested...

so full....

anyway food tasting at epicurious was not too bad..

despite me being so full and all...

tried taking some pictures of the food...

Mushroom soup paired with croque Monsieur toast

the mushroom soup was like damn good!!

u can actually taste the chunky mushrooms inside...

for the croque Monsieur toast it's like ham on the baguette topeed with mozarella and another kind of cheese...

if you like cheese, this is for you...

even the very full me didn't find it jelat...

Asian salad paired with bacon-wrapped chicken

i like the salad...well in general i like lettuce..and smoked salmon..ya so as long as pair them up for me i'm a happy girl...the salad dressing and the salad itself was sweet so it sort of makes the smoked salmon less salty...but i don't know what is the dressing on the salad..then the bacon wrapped chicken tastes like ngoh hiong to me..anyway the ingredients are ngoh hiong ingredients...except for the skin n the meat...the chicken inside is minced and mixed with water chestnut and five spice powder...ngoh hiong right?? u must be wondering..wah lishan tastebud so sensitive meh..can taste all that..of course not la..we asked the owner..hahaha n i'm not really a big fan of ngoh hiongs western or chinese...but if u like ngoh hiong u may like this..haha

Mini burger paired with spaghetti vietnamese bolognaise

i must reiterate i was very full so actually i wasn't really able to finish the pasta and the burger and they were like only in tasting portions...for the spaghetti vietnamese bolognaise the bolgnaise was made of tomato puree (not tomato paste ar), a bit of chilli, lemon grass and minced chicken..so it's a twist on the tradtional bolognaise..not bad...as for the mini burger, the actual one is supposedly quite big...but this small lil' cute one here is quite nice...i like the bread!!! it's the kind with the nut (i don't know wad nut) on top..haha the beef patty was qt good too!!

Apple crumbled paired with french toast

dessert!!! a girl's comfort food!! haha epicurious is famous for their apple crumble...i haven't eaten many apple crumbles in my life..so i can't really comment on this one...but i like that the apple crumble was hot in contrast with the cold vanilla ice cream on top...and the apple crumble wasn't too sweet... as for the french toast...it's quite interesting coz there's raisin inside..den they top with bananas and strawberries and honey?(or maple syrup?) too full liao...so didn't really properly taste it..

i think all the above pairings should individual dishes by themselves in the menu ba..so in total i tried 8 dishes for $25 nett...quite worth rite?

and there was free flow of ribena and iced lemon tea..and they actually topped it up (quite frequently in fact) unlike the previous time at the other food tasting session that we went for...so thumbs up for their service..and if you ask the staff about the food that u are eating, they are actually able to explain the dish to you...yup..

and...there was a lucky draw whereby everyone got something..i got 1-for-1 free tapas.. and according to the organiser, the 1-for-1 doesn't literally mean 1-for-1...u can go in multiples like 2-for-2 or 10-for-10..you get my idea...hahaha so anyone interested in trying can let me know...the place is at robertson quay...near the rainbow bridge...nice ambience but ermz a bit warm in this weather coz it was alfresco dining..price wise is pretty mid-range..in the higher $10+ range ba..the burger is $9 and it's nice big and juicy..so ok ma..hahaha

the reason why i'm even blogging about this food tasting session was coz i think it was pretty good as compared to the previous one..so they deserve my effort in doing a nice writeup about them..but too bad if not many people read my blog..but it's ok..u all can recommend the place to your friends..not recommend my blog ar...

oh no! my cousin just asked me for help for his amaths coz his exam is next week (i can't believe he askedfor help 1 week before his exams..faintx)..coz his tuition teacher MIA for the past 4 months...wonder what happened to her...so i told him since it's only the 1st 4 topics i can go over and try to help..but i need to refresh my memory and dig out my maths again..if cannot...i think got to get someone else..btw anyone can teach JC AO level maths?? i seriously don't know what AO maths is teaching...haha haix sometimes i worry about making recommendations...especially to family members..put my reputation at the mercy of some other people...haix

ok la..tmr is the last lesson for archery...time to sleep!!
