these few days have been unbearably HOT!!!
don't even need to move and u'll juz start sweating like a pig...

but i was in the office..
so rain i also dun feel any difference..

sat went shopping with maureen which was followed by a local musical called
天冷就回来if there are seasons....
if u have been buying old chang kee u would have seen their pamphlets and posters..
we went shopping at the iluma
u noe.. the new place at bugis...
bth much there...
prolly coz not all the shops are opened yet..
but frm i see...even if all the shops are opened..
there ain't much to see...
hahaha
we were done wif iluma in an hr or lesser...
so we made our way to haji lane...
ok i abit sua ku...never go shopping there b4...
it's a big respite frm the hustle and bustle and the stifling crowd at bugis...
coz it's so nice and quiet and quaint...
there was this shop that sells clothes and story books
the story books are all the penguin classics....
is it v cheap? saw a girl buying so many of them..
haha
after dinner, we made our way to the drama centre @ nlb coz our show starts at eight..
天冷就回来is a musical by the theatre practice (实践剧场) about a group of young pple wanting to fulfil their dreams..
ah le gg to NY to find his goal and purpose in life after his girlfriend xiao jing (played by shi xin hui) passes away
ya so shi xin hui acts as a ghost in the musical..who will float out occassionally and sing when ah le thinks of her..hahahaha
he met ah qiang in new york
they became great friends because of their common passion for music
they decided that they would aspire to make their music known!!
rose, (played by joanna dong...she sings really well!!well she's a singer too..haha) an aspiring actress who ultimately wants to land a role in broadway and make her name known
in the pursuit of their dreams and love, they are faced with difficult choices that they have to make and they have to face up to their own feelings....
ok la..these storyline may seem a bit cliche...haha
but the backbone of this musical and the highlight is that most of the songs..36 out of the 39 songs used in this musical are Dr. Liang Wern Fook's (粱文福) songs..
yep he's dr liang...don't doubt it...wahahaha
the songs will be familiar to all of us..

1 of the aims of this musical is to bring musicals to the masses through songs that are familiar to us..
or rather, bring the masses to the theatres..haha
and a very unique selling point would be songs from 新谣which a lot of singaporeans can identify with
case in point..there was this auntie sitting beside me who tried to sing along to the songs in the musical...only to realise that the songs have been rearranged...so can't catch!
hahaha
this musical also brought up a point
我们在别的国家只能唱他们的歌，还不如回到自己的家唱自己的歌。。
i guess 1 of the aims is also to promote 新谣to the younger generation of singaporeans ba..
to encourage more people to explore their musical selves...
n to create a music culture that's unique to us..
so overall it's worth watching!!
u can even bring ur mum & dad to watch it!!
coz the songs are frm their time...wahahaha
it runs till 10 May...so can consider doing it as a mother's day present?

went for archery in the morning...
it was so hot untill my palms were sweating untill i had some difficulties plucking the arrows out of the board..hahaha
i feel so so so so tempted to join the archery club and also get a bow & arrow myself man!!
feels so wasted tt after 6 lessons n i stop...
i feel like continuing with archery leh...
but it's like $350 bucks for the most basic and the cheapest leh

ermz actually we were like withering in the heat...

but zhen got free tix to underwater world...but only got 2..
so both of us went..while the rest entertained themselves at the beach....
hz says tt she has seen a whale jump b4 so she wasn't particularly fascinated with e pink dolphins jumping...
but since i haven't seen a whale jump b4, it was still fascinating to me!
hahaha
after tt we went to the underwater world...
ermz..i think it's a bit small ar...nt really worth paying $22 to go in..but then the $22 includes the dolphin show...
but i still think a bit expensive...
i dun think i'll be gg back there in the near future again...
haha

hmm life's a drag recently
it has all been revolving ard work
wake up go work go home do work go slp
and the cycle repeats itself
really tiring...

in times when other pple may be experiencing lower work loads
my work load increases..
without a corresponding increase in salary
well at least i gt a pay raise in feb...
which i sort of regretted telling when asked abt it...
felt bad coz the others din get a raise...
n nt like they tell me if and when they do..
haha

why has the work load increased...
1. it's the recession (it's the boom time for my line of work)
2. 1 of my colleagues has left for greener pastures..twice as green in money terms
3. well we r juz short handed
the colleague who left has the same no of cases as my manager
after she left all of it became my manager's which means part of it became mine
in addition to all the new work coming in...
in this kind of times u can see hw impt it is to appreciate your employees...instead of snapping at your employees for nt getting the work done...or insinuating that your employees are nt working...
wad good is it for u to get all the new jobs but have not enough manpower to handle them...
after 2 weeks of OT-ing n bringing hme work..i'm glad tt my pile of work has decreased somewhat...i hope...
at least my table is nt so messy nw...
my entry is beginning to sound less coherent coz i'm getting real slpy...
but bcoz of the late late dinner i had..i have to wait a while for the food to settle b4 gg to bathe..
n it din help tt my family left huge portions of dinner for me today..haha
anw i gt this new colleague...supposed to take over the colleague who left...but she's totally inexperienced in insol...in simple terms she's juz like me...
i think my boss is trying to isolate her frm my manager,...
i dunno if i'm thinking too much..
old pple n their ego la..he prob thinks tt my manager is too influential..more influential than him
which was y on the 2nd day of work of the new colleague he was snapping at us at the meeting...to assert his authority... sth got me really riled up..insinuating tt we r nt doing our work....hello! when we do OT everyday do u even noe or appreciate?? u come to office at 11 leave office at 5...n expect the work to appear in front of u like by magic...
i thot it was really unfair for another colleague of mine..
coz she totally wasn't taught the insol part of the work...when she was helping my ex-colleague she was purely doing the admin part of things...like filing n stuff..she's wasn taught properly..my boss kept saying she's nt learning...y she nv clarify things...the thing is she din noe wad!!! the worse part is he kept saying things to trap her lor...n the worst is tt he kept scolding her when he couldn;t find a doc tt he wanted..say y she nv keep a copy...in the end he found it in his room...like wtf la...u got stacks of docs in ur room tt u dun even go thru first den u scold ur employees first...n haf the cheek to ask my colleague nt to take it to heart after tt...
abt the new colleague...havent really toked to her...coz she's in her room by herself....haha
everyone's curious abt her..but no one has toked to her enuff to find out more abt her...haha
n she's put some sort of fragrance in her room tt makes me feel faint when i go in...
seriously...
maybe coz she juz opened it...so the smell is a bit stronger...
n i think everyone is a bit relieved nw tt they gt another ex-colleague to come back to work part time to help cope wif the workload...this colleague happens to be the lady tt i took over..nw she's back..hahaha at least she's experienced...coz without her the only pple experienced in insol in office is my boss n my manager..will faint de leh...esp since bosses dun really bury themselves in mundane work...they look at the big picture..i.e. M-O-N-E-Y hahahaha
