愿逝者安祥
生者无恙。
这句话让我有很深的感触。

没有庞大的制作费,
没有绚丽的舞台,
没有华丽的服装,
没有丰富的奖品,
没有惊心动魄的演出;
只有让人振奋人心的画面,
让人心酸的故事,
但是新加坡人还是发挥了他们的爱心
筹得了六百多万。
谁说做慈善需要包装，
需要外来的推力，
只要有一颗真挚真诚的心，
是可以感动到人的。

In the pursuit of economic gains, material wealth, fame and status, perhaps we have forgotten how to love and respect our fellow mankind and our environment. Is this Mother Earth's way of warning us or reminding us not to forget these basic principles?
It is indeed thought provoking that both the disasters(Sze Chuan Earthquake and Cyclone Nargis) happened within weeks of each other and resulted in death tolls that are rising as the stock markets are falling. Most notably, both countries have been involved in human right issues recently. Do these disasters serve as a reminder to us to respect the rights of our fellow mankind? Or does it take disasters to show that there is hope in this world, that deep down, humans do still have a heart.
Let us pray for all these disaster victims
Pray that those who emerged from these disasters alive would become stronger for all that they have been through.
Pray that those did not manage to survive may rest in peace knowing that there many kind souls out there willing to lend a helping hand to those left behind.
Pray that normalcy may return to their lives.

yay! it's foto time! haha
last fri went to the ij fiesta...
act i knew got fiesta coz 2 of my students r ij gals
n both r called amanda..
haha
when we went back we felt so old...
i din manage to see many teachers ecxept mrs nics
but she doesn't rmbr us anymore..
wahaha
it's been like what..5 or 6 years..
apparently now the fiesta is kinda open to the public
n the gals play within themselves at nite
which explained my student's sleepy eyes the next morning at tuition
she played until 1.30am
last time it was all juz within the school
FUN!
after studying in ij den gg on to aj
everything was cheap in comparison..
lockers ,food and even performance tix, class fund...
n pple in aj act complained perf tix more than $5 as expensive
pls lor..
hahahaha

we so totally fell in love with the teddy bear wearing the uniform
apparently it's their mascot...
pity the ij bear is OOS otherwise we would have bought it on the spot..

so we had to content ourselves with taking pictures with the bear
n buying a car decal tt says IJ girl on board
unfortunately i do not haf a car..

After we left the fiesta we were dying to go somewhere cooler..it was so freaking hot n humid tt day..actually is nowadays..haha so we went to kbox den bern n i went to eat kway chap..act i ahvent been to the kway chap place since i last went with maureen...coz the experience wasn't too good..but when i went last fri again..the kway chap became delicious again!!haha yeah! so happy..my favourite kway chap place..

on sunday..met geri bern lamu n jb for the long-talked-abt clubbing/drinking session..haha

before that went shopping wif geri n had dinner at MOF..

i love geri's camera..my next camera shall be a canon...i shall not let my impression of canon printers affect my image of canon cameras..they r totally in different leagues..haha

after orering our food with nth to do...so let's camwhore! haha

while shopping juz now received a call..
was rather surprised..
coz it was from 1 one of the cos tt i applied for long long ago
she called than she asked if i was still looking for a job
then she said the MA programme tt i applied for was closed (like duh! the application was made 4 mths ago)
den she asked if i was interested in another position and asked me to go for interview tmr or rather later on (it's 1.30am now)
OMG! so sudden..
totally not prepared..haha
n i only got managed to check my email at 12+
den i was qt surprised to see the number of forms and documents tt i'm supposed to bring
it's really 1 thhiiiccck stack when printed out..
n in 1 of the forms they act asked for character referees...
walao where to find chararcter referee at 1.17am in the morning...
the fact is i also dunno who to ask to be my character referee...
coz cannot get relatives..
haha
nvm juz go for the interview lor
follow my uncle's advice
go for as many interviews as possible
for the experience lor..
hehehe

these days i'm hooked to this taiwanese idol drama called ming zhong zhu ding wo ai ni
it's a typical cinderella kind of story
got qiao en and ruan jing tian
it's really qt funny
hahahaha
but
it has not ended yet
n
i have finished watching the available episodes
i so hate waiting for the episdes to come out 1 by 1 every week
very annoying leh
keep me in suspense the whole week
den also dunno when the whole series will finish
like e zuo ju e wen took like 5 months to finish when they only haf 20 episodes..

life is an irony...
in the world that we are living in now..
with rising life expectancies
why do we keep hearing of people who pass away while they are still in their prime
is it because the world has changed?
or is it because we have grown up?
growing up means that we realise that pple around us don't live forever
growing up means we have to learn to deal with loss and pain
growing up is a pain..

what a way to meet up with primary school friends, wished we had met up under happier circumstances...
take care of yourself ya...

on friday, went to watch 安域情韵 AJ CLDDS's yearly performance...
went back to help them with the make up..
tt's the funniest part..lishan helping other pple do make up
wahaha
luckily most of them could do their own make up except the guys who don't need to do all those fanciful stuff...
so juz help the guys do lor..
act wanted to take pix ard aj coz it has really changed qt a bit to show u all..
but was bz helping wif the make up so no time to take pix
haha

anw this yr's 安域 is based on 3 stories by local writers and was even featured in 联合早报爆米花。。。i guess having a teacher i/c who was a 通讯员helps..this yr they weren't as unlucky as last yr where the stage lights fused in the midst of the performance..

i think it was agreed among all the seniors that the 3rd story was the best..in terms of acting, pacing n all.. as usual the audience was bad...the turnout was great...they even ran out of tix to sell..but some were not really appreciative of the artistic aspects of the show..n this show wasn't really artistic alr..kept luffing when it wasn't even funny..

the funny thing tt one of the seniors said was that...

“现在什么都在起价除了安域的票没有起价，还是$5。。”

as usual after every year's 安域, we'll all go to the kfc in amk central n fill up half of kfc wif our noise n pple..haha

n proudly presenting to u....the VONGOLE!!! yummy! haha this vongole is from the hawker ctr near my tuition ctr...it's v nice leh..altho somtimes the clams got sand...but look at the clams...the flesh inside is big...it's different frm the normal clams tt r used..this one is fatter and sweeter n more expensive.. n they r really qt generous with their ingredients.. was toking to the lady boss the other time..she say they only buy this clams on weekends so on weekdays they use back the normal clams...all for $5.50 only...

yesterday eil n i went to the farms in lck...partly coz i wanted to racee the pl to organise a farm tour for my tuition ctr n also we juz wanted to haf fun..wad wif everyone overseas or gg overseas we might as well entertain ourselves in sg..

while we were on the shuttle bus on the way to the farms..so exciting~~

1st stop: Hay Diaries

n we missed the milking time..boohoo..anw u can buy the hay there to feed the goats..

kids...baby goats r called kids rite? i forgot to off the flash tt's y they haf blue eyes here..den after tt they couldn't stay still long enuff for me to take a shot of them...

haha eileen looks like she's stuffing the hay into the goat's mouth...they r so cute when they eat...

see..here's another pix of her..haha i noe it's a her coz she doesn't have any horns...they dehorn all the female goats in the farm...baaaa~baaaa~

2nd stop: Spring Orchard

this place is like right next to hay diairies so after we were done visiting the goats' farm we popped by this orchard while waiting for the bus...but we din really manage to see the whole farm coz the bus came while we were juz starting to go into the orchard.. anw this orchard is qt interesting.. it grows dragonfruits n passion fruit...but i think dragon fruit is the main fruit...

bet u din noe the plant that the dragon fruit came from is a kind of cactus...

this pic shows a lot of plants k..dun think they r weeds...in the background is the dragonfruit plant..den the creeper u see on the top right hand corner of the pix is the grapevine...n on the floor those plants over there r called mugworts(艾草)..it's a kind of herb..i think dae chang guem got mention it..haha

nope!

it's the passionfruit(百香果)! it turns red when it is ripe and it smells very nice...名副其实的百香果。。

3rd stop: Fireflies Health Farm
at first when i saw the name online i thot it rears fireflies....but in the end...look at the chinese name below...

it's an organic veggie farm!

it's an interesting place..but most of the time we couldn't recognise any of the veggies in the ground...can u?

however, we can recognise the long bean!! yummy! i wan tt bean! haha

4th stop: Khai Seng Fish Trading
we din noe wad was in there so we juz went in to take a look lor...got fishes tt we can't recognise and eels..this was a breezy place..a welcome respite from the scorching heat of the sun despite the fishy smell... there's a bonsai garden behind the fish farm so act it makes the place qt nice...

can u spot the chameleon hiding in the pix? one of it's hands and one of its legs is grabbing the top of the stone...as tho it's holding on for it's life while waiting for us to go away...it might be thinking.."go away u 2 crazy girls! i can't hold on much longer!"

After this, we went to gardenasia..tt was a boring place..nth to see...so we decided to go the farm next door..called kin yan agrotech they grow wheat grass, mushrooms, aloe vera and the rosella fruit(洛神果) which my mum calls the ribena flower coz the drink tt u make frm this fruit really tastes like ribena...ermz my camera ran out of battery somewhere here...so no more pix...anw we were too busy squeezing wif the aunties to buy stuff tt we also had no time to take pix...

kin yan agrotech was our last stop...after tt we were rather tired so we juz boarded the bus n left...on the way out of the farm area, the bus uncle was really nice..he told us abt the history of the area, what was it like before when he was still living in the kampong in lck n he introduced us to the fruit trees in the area...there r really a lot of fruit trees in the area...got the luku langsat, mangosteen, butterfruit, egg fruit trees...all of which r qt foreign to us i think...but all edible..interesting...

How to get there:

Go to Kranji MRT and take the shuttle bus (Kranji Express) frm there.. the shuttle bus ride costs $1 for students and $2 for adults for a round trip u can use your ez link card to pay for it..it's qt worthwhile leh...means when u r in the farm area u dun haf to pay when u board the bus again to go to other farms..dun even think of walking...they r qt far apart and it's rather scary coz there's nobody there..

the shuttle bus goes to sungei buloh too...n opp sungei buloh is the aeroponics farm..wa.. the entrance fee for tt is $4, but it includes a guided tour also la...i rmbr last time when i went when i was younger no need to pay de leh..den still can get to eat the lettuce...now need to pay..boo..so we din go..haha

n tt concludes the end of our 1 day farm tour..hehe we were tired and sticky n sweaty after tt..n we were carrying bags of stuff which made us feel like aunties...but it was indeed a different experience...haha

Ans: Coz their horns don't work...LOL(dun bash me k? not i come up wif the qn de...)

yesterday went out wif the 2 eileens to tea chapter
was supposed to be a gathering b4 ek leaves for her work n travel usa..
but end up..haix..haha

on the way to tea chapter passed by the buddha tooth relic temple...the inside is really very grand...before i go on to tok abt the temple..before we went in, this caucasian lady whom i swuppose is 1 of the attendants at the temple told us tt coz i'm wearing sleeveless i haf to wear a shawl n eileen who was wearing a dress would have to wear a sarong to cover up her legs...we were a bit gao bu qing chu zhuang kuang initially coz we nv knew temple got dress code...

anw inside the temple..the word that comes to mind is "decadent splendour" ..it's the first temple tt i noe tt is air conditioned...then the place where the buddha tooth relic is at...they dun display the buddha tooth relic..they only display it during vesak day..which is coming soon..in the chamber, there are 35 buddhas tt attained enlightenment before siddarta gautama (did i spell it correctly?) and all these statues are made of gold...mind u not gold plated...made of gold..den the floor tiles of the chamber are also made of gold and it cost $5000/tile...*gasps* hmmm now we wonder why gold prices are rising... but in the relic museum on the 3rd level there are many artefacts on display and it also traces the story of how siddarta gautama became buddha...very informational..then there are also relics(eye,liver,brain,blood,etc etc) on display...a very eye opening experience

hmmm i believe that if a religious organisation has a lot of spare cash lying ard, they should use it to help pple in need...shows of opulence juz goes to show that there is too much excesses in our society..

after we left the buddha tooth relic temple..we continued making our way to tea chapter..n finally we arrived..haha

the first time i came here was in sec 1 where it was a tradition to go to this teahouse to gif our seniors a farewell gathering...after tt when eileen n i became the pres n vp, we broke the tradition..a bit regret it now..but nvm..haha so sorry jb we din pass on the tradition to u guys...wahahaha

i like this place coz it's very cozy and good for chilling out and catching up with friends...btw dunno if u all got watch yi fang ban ting yi shui gang...there was this scene whereby jiang chengxi was supposed to be in shanghai n the cene showed him in a teahouse..it's this teahouse..act qt a lot of shows were filmed here

the 茶具。。there's the kettle(duh!), 公道壶(i think it's called tt),闻香杯,品茗杯，i forgot wad's the tray like thingy called..haha

u muz pour the tea into the 公道壶so that the taste of the tea is even to be 公道 to all haha...coz if u pour into the individual cups the tea in the last cup will be the most bitter while the tea in the first cup will be too bland..

den after tt u pour the tea into the fragrance cup..why is it called a fragrance cup? coz it's for u to smell the fragrance of the tea...

u muz hold the fragrance cup like ek..hehe

den pour the tea from the frangrance cup to the drinkng cup..nw u can finally drink ur tea...haha
sounds troublesome hor? tt's y it's called tea appreciation ma..茶艺。。。

den after leaving the teahouse..we wnated to go for dinner..act we wanted to go to smith str..where the 美食街is..den while we were there..we saw a horrifying scene...we saw cockroaches...at first i saw only one..den i saw a lot scrambling down a stool...i was so scared tt my stool would haf cockroaches too...i thot tt was all...den after tt when i looked to my left...i saw even MORE cockroaches coming out of the drains...eeeKs! gross!after tt we decided to go eat at maxwell mkt altho got lesser variety..den while we were getting a refund frm the bbq stingray stall..the uncle still dare to tell us “那边有张螂不要紧坐我们这边。。。”as if the cockroach wun move like tt..

anw today went to the pasir panjang wholesale ctr wif my mum...den we saw this shop tt sells vegetarian stuff...my mum was super excited..as tho she nv see b4..ok la..most of the vegetarian stuff r not sold outside...she juz keep taking n taking like no need money like tt...den...she...realised...that she may not haf enuff money n they din accept nets...so she had to put back some stuff...wahaha...
