my computer crashed not too long ago..
altho it's up and running now...
it's still missing some stuff
like the whole MS ofice suite..

my bro actually asked me
u need MS office meh?
like duh!
i can't live without the internet, ms office and the printer
i think i cant live more without the internet

coz i dun haf ms office
i decided to make full use of vpn b4 my student account disappears for good
haha
so i vpn-ed into the sch network to use their ms word
the wonders of remote desktop
haha
act now i'm waiting for my ms word file to be converted into pdf
it's like taking forever...

wanted to go collect my passport yesterday
den studpidly
i forgot to bring my old passport
nwow i muz go down again...

anw since i was at lavender yest
i met maureen for lunch
she brought me to this famous bak kut teh place
we ate the dry bak kut teh, the normal soup bak kut teh n the liver n kidney soup and salted vege
hehehe

the dry bak kut teh was qt special
i thot it was all bak kut untl i saw the fried intestines
yummy!
sorry lishan is a fan of pork innards
so i'll get very excited when i see them

n another stydpid thing was
i dropped my thumbdrive at kbox on mon..
my thumbdrive is black so r the seats so i din realise until yesterday
so i had to go to jurong from lavender to get back my thmbdrive
i will cry if i lose my thumbdrive
coz everything's inside

den after collecting the thumbdrive
went for tuition
had a splitting headache after the lesson
not coz they were notti la
stressed i guess
the lousy weather din help much
we seem to be more stressed than the students having exams

tt's mostly coz i got nth to blog about
how interesting can studying for exams get..

n yay! exams finally ended last thurs
woohoo~
last exams in ntu *hopes so*
hope i get decent grades...
i think many of us weren't in a studying mood...
n so weird i received a msg wishing me good luck for my exams today
while i was enjoying myself in kbox

of coz after tt the sender went on to ask me if i could ask my acc frens to see if they wanted their final year notes if not can pass her or not...

her 3 yrs in uni 6 sems altogether
keep asking me for notes...

these few days when i've been staying at home
i've been having the flu like nobody's business....

last nite jy was telling me abt the 30hr famine camp
yay!
i wanna go...
i think last yr got the the email frm world vision
but it clashed wif sth i think..
so din volunteer...

yup i qt enjoyed the last 30hr famine camp tt we went for...
this time we go back as faci should also be fun..

this week is the last week of sch....
will miss uni life a lot...
or rather i'll miss my timetable a lot..
wahaha

the new can A is open
got subway, canadian pizza, sakae sushi,etc
darn why they open at this time..
they shud open earlier ma...
sad!
won't get to enjoy all these nice food
they shud do this revamp to can B man!
i think can B badly needs it more than can A
but then if can B got all these where will i go find my 45 cents tea in the morning
where will i find my vegetarian stall
n my yong tau foo stall
n my banana milkshake
ok la..
despite all the complaining abt the food in can B there r still some favourites for me
haha
hmm wonder if all these will be cheaper in sch hor...
i think sakae will be qt popular wif the students lor
esp during the lunch buffet
come'on man
ntu is filled wif students!

have been giving tuition for a few yrs now..
but realised tt i hardly tok abt my students...
haha
giving tuition really allows u to see all sorts of students
we've got the hardworking ones who'll do ur homework and extra
got some who's the happiest if she got reason not to come tuition,i.e. NAFTA test, training,etc
got the ones who haven't grow up where even my p4 cousin can be more mature
got some who were forced to go tuition n think tt since they have paid we the tutors r indebted to them
got some totally heck care ones
Q:wad is ur teacher teaching now?
A: i dunno..i dun pay attention in class...
Q: den can gif me a key word? something ur teacher said that u rmbr...
A: tell u i dun listen in class alr....

got the playful ones
got the talkative ones (don't be surprise that my class of boys is noisier than my class of girls by N times)
got some who really dun show face
walao while u r screaming at him to keep quiet, he can still be toking to the person beside him...
got blur ones
got some really cute ones...like this pair of twins...suuupper cute....sometimes they'll even gang up to swap identities...altho they r nt my direct students but i did relief teach them for 2 sessions..
also got the spoiled ones..
every week come n whine to you "why must we learn algebra?"
n think he's the most pitiful person in the whole wide world
take 11 subjects(sec 2 only wad...duh..english, maths, science, history, geog, lit, chinese, home econs, D&T, music, art...who nv experience b4?)
muz wake up at 6 or 7 (hello i woke up at 500 last time ok..n muz take train...got pple drive u still complain)
n think tt the tuition teacher is very free de..go n teach for 3 hrs n the rest of the day go shopping...grrrrrr...(hello teacher busier than u can! teacher need to go sch den come teach a spoiled brat like u...)
honestly i've nv seen a whinier person than him...
whine n whine n whine....
also have some who'll give u feel a sense of satisfaction...
they thank you after they did better for their exams (that's RARE)

overall i do think teaching private is really easier...
it's juz 1 to 1
u dun haf to rmbr so many people's syllabus
can u imagine
i can haf 2 girls in xin ming sec
both sec 2
yet they r doing totally different things in sch
1 can be doing the chemistry module the other doing biology module
siao!
i guess this is also why the traditional tuition model won't work nowadays...
it's not like our time
when the teachers more or less follow the textbook chapters
now the schs r so creative
they juz jump here n there n even add sec 3 n 4 stuff into the syllabus
hello like wad for?
u teach so dificult things at sec 2
the students may not even have the maturity to grasp the concepts
afterall sec science n pri sci is totally different leh..
n ultimately everybody is taking the same O levels rite?
so wad's the point of teaching them the O level syllabus at sec 1 or 2?
not as though the examiner can gif u bonus marks for grasping the concepts at an earlier age rite?

so tuition nowadays haf to be more customised to suit the individual needs
imagine the tuition teacher teahcing trigo when the sch teacher is teaching graphs
the student will be trying to grasp 2 topics at the same time...
haha
make things more difficult for tuition teachers...

n pte also dun haf to monitor so many students...
their test dates n all
i got people telling me at the end of the class that they got test tmr morning
wahbiang! wad am i supposed to do?
also got pple who totally forgot she got test den get 4/28 for her test

i guess tuition also has it's interesting facets
where u can haf students saying sth
den u dunno whether to be exasperated or to laugh...

all in all i would rather tbe the tutee than the tutor...

tutee juz do homework only wad..
i was a very "smart" tutee last time k..
if i dun feel like doing work i juz tok to my tutor lor..
ask her all sorts of qns
tt's wad my cuz did when i was teaching him
jie jie i got a lot of qns to ask u....
in pri sch when my bro n i used to haf tuition together...
